Facebook, Whatsapp, and Instagram went down on 3/07/2019?
Users globally were not able to send or receive images, videos and other files over several social media platforms.
Facebook, Instagram, and Whatsapp went down for 9 hours on around 8 pm 3/07/2019 globally.
People were facing issues like:-
- Unable to view media status in Whatsapp.
- Unable to download media files in Whatsapp.
- Unable to post stories on Instagram and Facebook.
- Unable to post links on Facebook.
- People automatically got logged out and were unable to log back in.
Facebook further tweeted:-
“We’re aware that some people are having trouble uploading or sending images, videos and other files on our apps. We’re sorry for the trouble and are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible.” #facebookdown
Reason for the issue:-
There are no official statements out by Facebook, about the reason for the service outage.
But, a Facebook spokesperson, speaking on behalf of Facebook explained that it was a “routine maintenance operation” accidentally triggered a bug that made it difficult for users to upload or send photos and videos, US media reported.
Companies like Facebook carry out maintenance checkups for their servers time to time, To ensure things running smoothly.
After being down for 9 hours:-
Facebook tweeted:- “Earlier today a bug in our server caused some people to have trouble accessing our apps. The issue has since been resolved – we’re back to 100% for everyone – and we’re sorry for the inconvenience.”
